Actually, red ginseng was not an ingredient that I looked for a sheet mask since my experience of using Lebelage Red Ginseng was not really good. I bought The Face Shop Red Ginseng Sheet Mask last month and just tried it last weekend (finally) after I made such a big decision to try. Well, red ginseng has an ability to boost skin-firming collagen which is very effective to reduce and fight against wrinkles. It is also good for helping skin regeneration and brightening the skin. But unfortunately, I don’t like its smell which is bad and bothering.
Anyway, It’s kinda dilemmatic to explain to you about my experience of using The Face Shop Red Ginseng Sheet Mask. Just read this post till the last text to get the reason why.
About The Face Shop Red Ginseng Sheet Mask:
A highly nourishing and energizing sheet mask containing extract of Korean red ginseng rich in saponin, a supplement to care for tired skin.
Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat, Trehalose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Xanthan Gum, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Phaseolus Radiatus Extract, Betula Platyphylla Japonica Bark Extract, Rumex Crispus Root Extract, Phenyl Trimethicone, Carbomer, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Fragrance.
The Face Shop Red Ginseng Sheet Mask comes in a good package, a doff texture paper that I always adore. There’s a red ginseng picture on the front part of the package and some Korean texts that I don’t understand what they mean. I was really surprised when I saw the sheet mask in the package. The color and the smell, they were just unbelievable. The sheet mask was brown and the smell was also bad. I was thinking to cancel the usage of the sheet mask but I had spent money for that so I kept on my way to use it. God, I have never thought that the sheet mask would come with that color and smell. The most peculiar sheet mask I’ve ever seen in my whole time.
It was very easy to apply because the size of the sheet mask was not too big for me. As it’s recommended, I applied the sheet mask after applying my daily toner. The first impression of the sheet mask was about the smell, of course. It was too weird to smell in my opinion. It also looked really weird seeing my face covered in brown, haha, but the effect was just amazing to be ignored.
My skin felt really hydrated and moisturized, and in the morning, of course after I woke up and saw my skin face, it looked fresh, healthy, and brighter. I thought the brown essence of the sheet mask would leave my skin a bit brownish in the morning, but in fact, it wasn’t. The biggest thing I realized was my springy cheek, so adorable and delicious. I couldn’t stop looking and touching my skin face. I gave my eye to the package of the sheet mask again and read its ingredients (maybe I can get the reason of what finally made my skin like this, I guessed). After reading and learning about the ingredients, then I knew about meritorious ingredients of the sheet mask. So here I tell you how The Face Shop Red Ginseng Sheet Mask can help me through its ingredients as I understand, so far.
The Face Shop Red Ginseng Sheet Mask contains phaseolus radiatus seed extract, which is obtained by the processes of fermenting Phaseolus radiatus using yeast or lactic acid bacterium; and secondarily treating the fermented liquor with protease. This phaseolus radiatus seed extract itself is capable in preventing or postponing aging. Second, it contains Betula Platyphylla Japonica Bark Extract. Have you ever heard about this? This is commonly known as Japanese White Birch which has potential benefits for anti-acne, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and anti-oxidant. This kind of tree is distributed mostly in Korea, Japan, or China. Knowing benefits or these phaseolus radiatus seed extract and Betula Platyphylla Japonica Bark Extract, I guess they are ones which is meritorious for the good effect, beside its main ingredient: Red Ginseng.
Overall, I like how The Face Shop Red Ginseng Sheet Mask goes with my skin, especially its hydrating and moisturizing effect. It’s easy to apply onto the skin and offered within a low price (only 3 USD or 25000 rupiahs for every sheet mask). But unfortunately, the sheet mask contains paraben and fragrance as its ingredients. Two ingredients I’m trying to avoid still (yes, still, because I can’t argue with some sheet masks’s excellent result from a sheet mask with paraben! haha). It’s highly recommended if you look for a sheet mask with abilities to hydrate, rejuvenate, and moisturize your skin, but not recommended if you look for a sheet mask with a good refreshing smile and no parabens or fragrance. I wonder if The Face Shop Red Ginseng Sheet Mask just has better smell and contains no paraben or fragrance, (then I’m gonna do a montly purchase for this sheet mask!). Honestly, I won’t repurchase this sheet mask and prefer to find another one’s better. How about you?
